Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. She was the daughter of Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent for sports early, and discovered her athletic abilities while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came in second place in the 200 meter event during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix graduated from high school and subsequently signed a pro-contract for Adidas. In the year 2004, she was enrolled at her first year at the University of Southern California, which is where she studied elementary education. One year later Felix was awarded her very first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record running 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest participant in the 200 meter at the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record time and time again in 2007 by beating long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked within the top three athletes in each of her events.
