Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on
August 26, 2002, is a popular American musician and singer. His single from
2019 "Ransom", was his breakout hit. The song peaked at number 4 on
the Billboard Hot 100. The single was released as part of his mixtape debut
"We Love You Tecca" (2019), which reached the top spot on the US
Billboard 200. The mixtape also contained the singles Love Me and Did It Again.
His debut studio album"Virgo World" (2020) debuted at #10 on the
Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping songs
"Dolly" as well as "When You Down". The mixtape he followed
"We Love You Tecca 2" was released in August 2021. It featured
"Repeat It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe
was born on the 26th of August, 2002 in the Queens neighborhood in New York
City to Jamaican immigrants. Sharpe was raised in Springfield Gardens a
neighborhood of Queens which he later moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. From
an early age, Sharpe had aspirations of being a part of the NBA however, at 12
years of age Sharpe turned his attention toward pursuing a career path in
music. He attended Lawrence High School. Tecca was nine years of age when he
started rapping over his Xbox. Tecca and his friends would often berate one
another. One of them was uploaded to SoundCloud years back, but it was removed.
In his first years, he didn't have any intentions of pursuing an income in
music, and instead , he envisioned becoming an NBA superstar. He began to
pursue music more seriously when the time he stopped playing basketball when he
was in middle school. His first single to become popular, "Tectri",
was created in collaboration with Lil Gummybear and released in the beginning
of 2017. Other tracks from his early days include "Callin". The song
that he topped the charts "Ransom," which was first posted to Cole
Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22 of 2019, marked the
beginning of Tecca's meteoric rise. The track reached the top spot at number 4
on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. It has received over 900 million Spotify plays
and more than 300 million YouTube views.
